Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Director, IS Project Management Office to our location in Renton WA, Portland OR, Seattle WA or Beaverton OR.
We are seeking a Director, IS Project Management Office to be responsible for developing and managing standard methodology, processes, and tools to support successful delivery of technology projects and programs across our integrated delivery system. The successful candidate will have accountability for planning, leadership, management, direction and administration for activities at PSJH. This position will assist the GVP IS Strategy and Project Management Office in managing the strategy, policies and practices for PSJH including communicating performance levels.
The Director ensures that all programs and projects assigned are appropriately planned, managed and delivered to meet customer defined value metrics, regulatory mandates and ongoing business and clinical requirements. The Director provides leadership to maximize financial resources, quality, cost effectiveness and responsiveness by working closely with project sponsors, internal and external stakeholders and collaboration with technology, applications, operations, informatics, customer service and strategy business teams.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Be responsible for partnering with leaders of IS Strategy and Business Development in setting Project standards of governance, ensuring adherence to those standards, and continuously evaluating the effectiveness.
Maintain relationships with key business partners and other senior leaders in the IS/PPMO industry in order to leverage best practices, evaluate emerging strategies, and distribute knowledge internally to develop, inform plans and strategies.
Monitor the performance of the project management staff and evaluates the performance on the basis of specific KPIs.
Oversee budgeting and expenditures for Portfolio & Project Management staff and services and projects they oversee.
Lead the development of and monitors compliance with policies and procedures for Portfolio & Project Management Office Services throughout PSJH.
Attract, hire, train, motivate, retain, and develop a team of first-rate professionals to perform the responsibilities of Project Delivery in PSJH.
Design, implement, maintain, and operate departmental Collaborative Service Agreements, Operating Level Agreements, and associated KPIs as it relates to project management in PSJH.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
12 years overall experience with 7 years of leadership experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage Portfolio management leaders and individual contributors.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives with an emphasis on deploying software solutions that provide business value.
Thorough understanding of current best practices, developments and trends in effective Portfolio management.
Strong vendor and contract management skills and ability to negotiate through challenging situations with both internal and external customers.
Broad expertise in information services related to development a deployment of new Portfolios.
Ability to comprehend customer business needs with respect to support of and impact to PHS organizational objectives, mission, and core values.
Strong knowledge of current best practices in project/program management.
Demonstrated experience of successful delivery of large enterprise wide programs/Portfolios.
Proven experience in the development of sound, intelligent strategies for strategic system implementation, integration methods, business process improvement, change management, product integration and risk management.
Knowledge of and ability to apply effective business strategies and strategic planning; a strategic business focus and understanding; understanding of how Portfolios are tied to business goals and objectives.
7-10 years progressively more responsible management and leadership experience: a detailed understanding of project life cycle, methodology and structure/governance; demonstrated ability to develop and deploy PM methodologies to organizations.
Proficiency with operating and capital budgeting tools and MS-Office suite.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master’s degree in Information Services, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or a related IS or healthcare field or equivalent educ/experience.
Experience applying a capability maturity model (using a structured approach) to an organization.
Project Management Professional and Six Sigma Black Belt Certifications.
