Providence Nurse Informaticist in Beaverton, Oregon
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Nurse Informaticist to our location in Beaverton, OR.
We are seeking a Nurse Informaticist to serve as a professional role model in promoting the understanding, integration, and application of information technology in healthcare settings. The Nurse Informaticist acts as a liaison between clinical care and information technology, supporting all care givers throughout the care continuum in the implementation, learning, use, adoption and optimization of clinical technologies.
The Nurse Informaticist will design, create, maintain, and optimize information systems education curriculum and adoption materials, including trouble shooting barriers to support successful application operations as well and implementation of sound processes to ensure successful future workflows.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Leads and manages the configuration of Health Care Services information systems integration and reporting functions to meet State and Federal regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies (CMS, NCQA, Oregon Health Authority and others as required). In-depth knowledge of the functional aspects of application systems to optimize clinical workflows and user efficiency, utilizing data to optimize member care and outcome tracking.
Conducts workflow analysis to improve efficient, reliable use of the clinical information systems. Develops and maintains established standard of work and system design.
Demonstrates effective interactions and positive interpersonal skills in dealing with business partners, vendors and clients in order to maximize productivity and positive employee relations. Actively and efficiently engages with key leaders, teams and subject matter experts to collaborate on and influence the design and development of projects, curriculum and workflows, and the integration of technology into patient care processes and across the organizations IT infrastructure.
Promotes highest attainable quality in the full life cycle of Clinical Information Systems.
Provides design, analysis, sponsorship, and recommendations for the implementation and maintenance of clinical information systems (CIS) and their associated clinical and business processes.
Keeps leadership and stakeholders apprised of significant issues, compliance risks, regulatory requirements, audit activity, and education elements that affect data flow and reporting.
Translates and communicates clinical needs to information technology staff and works closely with all business partners to develop appropriate solutions.
Establish, conceive and describe systems, designs, flow charts, time schedules and network requirements.
Conducts workflow analysis and makes recommendations for change management strategies.
Conducts quality assurance testing prior to solution deployment to ensure functionality is working as designed.
Works with managers and clinicians to develop implementation plans to support the transition to new work flows.
Works collaboratively with IT and Analytic departments to develop and refine the information system reporting capabilities, such as, operational and productivity dashboards, utilization and care management key indicator reports as well as system performance reporting and dashboards.
Actively participates and leads implementation of hot-fixes, enhancements, upgrades, vendor system integrations and other integrated system functionality within the matrixed IT infrastructure.
Conducts system integration and performance audits.
Other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree Nursing, Health Information Technology or equivalent education/experience per hiring manager discretion.
2 years experience in a position that has the same or similar primary duties working with a clinical information system within a healthcare setting.
2 years experience in Informatics certifications or credentialing or 2 years equivalent experience per the hiring manager’s discretion.
Experience with data analysis and data management associated with systems evaluation, clinical research, and analysis tools and methodologies.
Electronic Health Record/ Electronic Medical Record proficiency .
Able to integrate clinical knowledge and science with computer science and information systems.
Valid driver's license.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Information Technology or equivalent education/experience per hiring manager discretion.
