Providence Health & Services Program Manager - Behavioral Health Quality in Beaverton, Oregon


Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Program Manager Behavioral Health Quality to our location in Beaverton, OR.

We are seeking a Program Manager Behavioral Health Quality to be responsible for the oversight, planning and execution of the organization's behavioral health quality strategy. Objectives of the position include driving clinical quality performance within the network, using data to drive improvement initiatives for areas of identified deficiencies, improving ED/inpatient follow-up for conditions related to behavioral health and facilitating improved communications between behavioral health and physical health providers.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the behavioral health program quality goals and strategies for all lines of business, in alignment with NCQA, Medicare Stars, CCO, and population health initiatives.

  • Monitor behavioral health clinical quality performance across all lines of business and design, create, and implement resulting improvement projects and initiatives.

  • Present clinical quality measure performance and analyses to the behavioral health quality committee.

  • Oversee the organizations quality improvement initiatives as managed through annual quality committee work plan.

  • Engage with internal department stakeholders to drive performance in ED/inpatient follow-up care.

  • Partner with external provider stakeholders around data sharing, the dissemination of best practices, and clinical education material.

  • Develop member education material for conditions related to behavioral health.

  • Partner with Quality Department staff to conduct case reviews for quality of care complaints and potential adverse events.

  • Service as content expert for behavioral health HEDIS measures.

  • Use QI techniques (e.g., PDSA, lean, 6-sigma, root cause analysis) to lead performance improvement around a measures.

  • Participate in internal committee meetings to highlight performance opportunities within the organization.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, psychology, social work, public health, health science, health services administration, or other healthcare or business related field -OR- 5 continuous years of experience in healthcare or health plan quality management, quality improvement, or project management.

  • 3 years related experience working in, or with a managed care organization or clinical setting in a managed environment.

  • 3 years experience in project management or program management..

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year behavioral healthcare industry experience.

  • License in behavioral health related field.

  • Previous accreditation experience (NCQA or URAC).

  • Experience with behavioral health HEDIS measures.
