The Telecom Engineering team is seeking a Service Engineer 1 who will work in partnership with vendors, testers, and program managers, to design, implement, operate, grow, and improve large-scale, computer-based services offered to IS, non-IS and clinical caregivers..
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Apply the team’s standards and best practices to his or her own work to design high-performance, manageable services.
Understand the current service delivery system and collate issues to provide visibility into issues.
Perform troubleshooting of service issues to restore service with minimal disruption to the caregiver and business. Owns the problem, solving it once and for all. Extrapolates from past experiences and delivers innovations.
Actively takes part in disaster recovery drills. Participates as needed in incident response management during non-working hours.
Use expertise to identify relevant data for capacity requirements, based on service KPIs and evolving caregiver usage scenarios.
Use expertise to identify relevant data, and provides analysis on actual versus projected capacity requirements, based on service KPIs, evolving caregiver usage scenarios, and new feature releases to enable the team to create a viable cost model.
Participate in triaging and uses problem management tools (such as root cause analysis, trend analysis, and postmortems). Contributes to and implements a solution.
Ensure that production solutions are reliable, resilient, secure and effective and continuously monitored.
Collect metrics (such as service availability data, performance measures, system health, and long-term trends) to support service intelligence analysis.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineeriing or equivalent education/experience.
1 year Related experience.
Some experience in automation, specifically related to deployment, recovery, or other manual processes.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
A passion for learning and gaining new skills in this area.
Self-starter, with the ability to manage projects to completion, leadership qualities, ability to stand firm but also be empathetic.
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to team development.
